This Brooklyn Heights Townhouse Terrace was completed in 2022 in conjunction with Khanna Schultz Architects. This compact urban terrace features an interplay of materials—natural stone pavers for lounging and warm wood decking for dining—all framed by horizontal cedar slat cladding of planters containing a palette of ornamental grasses and flowering perennials. This strategically zoned outdoor space maximizes use by combining dining with lounging, extending the apartment's refined material palette to the outdoors and transforming a utilitarian rooftop into a visually and experientially enjoyable garden for an upper-floor apartment.
